Pencel Offers Application Developers an Easy Means of Integrating Wireless Printing With PrintBoy SDK

Developers of Kinectivity Applications Can Now Enable Users to Beam Reports From Palm OS Devices to Infrared Printers Via PrintBoy

Pencel Corporation today announces it now provides a free trial copy of Bachmann Software's PrintBoy(TM) Software Developers Kit (SDK) with its visual application workshop.

The aim of including wireless printing capabilities is to enable mobile professionals to wirelessly print data and reports directly from their Palm Powered(TM) handheld computers. By incorporating PrintBoy drivers into Kinectivity, mobile application developers can allow mobile users to "point and beam" their data files directly from their handheld computers to any printer equipped to accept infrared input, giving users the ability to collect, view and analyze data in a printed format rather than the small screen of a handheld computer.

The ability to produce a hard copy of a Kinectivity-produced report by printing it directly from the handheld computer has been in high demand among Pencel's customers. Developers who choose to incorporate PrintBoy functionality into their applications built on the Kinectivity platform will provide users with the same level of overall printing capabilities they enjoy with their desktop PCs.

"Those who develop mobile computing applications are aiming to create applications that equip their users with a total handheld computing solution, including the ability to print data files and reports whenever and wherever they are needed," said Dana Book, Pencel's vice president of business development. "Integrating PrintBoy functionality with Kinectivity is another way application developers can help companies to fully automate their mobile workers."

"PrintBoy is the perfect complement to any application built upon the Kinectivity platform," stated Dan Reuvers, vice president of Bachmann Software. "We are delighted that Pencel is encouraging application developers to use the PrintBoy SDK and provide end users with the best possible means of printing database records and reports from Palm Powered handhelds."
