The Pocket PC Summit Comes to Philadelphia, May 28-31, 2002

The First Event Dedicated Exclusively to the Pocket PC Platform Grows With Expanded Enterprise and Vertical Markets Focus

December 20, 2001

MultiMeteor Inc. announced the second Pocket PC Summit (www.pocketpcsummit.com) to be held at the historic Loews Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, May 28-31, 2002.

The event's conference and exposition present mobile solutions based on Microsoft's Pocket PC handheld platform. The highly focused conference is specifically designed for business, government and vertical market leaders, enterprise software and wireless developers, Pocket PC hardware and software makers, and wireless content producers.

"The first edition of the Pocket PC Summit attracted a who's who of leaders in the emerging Pocket PC community. The enthusiasm and excitement was so pervasive during the event that we've extended the conference by one day and expanded the exposition," commented event co-founder John Tidwell.

"We're also estimating a two to three time increase in attendance across the board this time around. This event truly represents the Pocket PC community and what's happening on the cutting-edge of wireless technology."

Despite taking place exactly one month after the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., the first Pocket PC Summit turned out to be an overwhelming success.

Microsoft, Intel, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Casio, UR There and Symbol Technologies were among the sponsors and exhibitors of the premier Pocket PC Summit held in Santa Monica, Calif., during October 2001.

Other prominent Pocket PC solution providers included Developer One, Ilium Software and Socket Communications, makers of networking and Internet access equipment for handheld devices.

Those companies who sent CEOs or top-level executives to make presentations during the conference included AvantGo, Handango, PacketVideo, Aether Systems, Sierra Wireless, Adobe Systems, Extended Systems, NEC and Odyssey Software, among others.

Building upon this success, the Pocket PC Summit conference is divided into several conference themes representing the most relevant issues facing the Pocket PC community -- Enterprise Intelligence & Business Strategy, Services & Solutions in Vertical Markets, Wireless Networking (WANs, LANs and PANs), and Communications & Corporate Data, Business & mCommerce, and Media Design & Entertainment, to name a few of the conference themes.

"The Pocket PC Summit was one of the best collections of innovation and passion that I've ever seen. There's no doubt the Pocket PC Summit in Philadelphia will bring together the key people, technology leaders, vendors and manufacturers. I'll be there!" said Phillip Torrone, director of Product Development of Fallon Worldwide (www.fallon.com).

Torrone created the Macromedia Flash Authoring Kit for the Pocket PC enabling developers to quickly deploy Flash content for the Pocket PC. Torrone was one of the many visionaries who spoke during the first Pocket PC Summit conference and will be one of the keynote speakers of the upcoming Pocket PC Summit.

Registration for the four-day Pocket PC Summit conference and exposition is $995. Delegates who register before March 31, 2002, will receive a special pre-registration discount package for only $695.
