Signia's Bluetooth Solutions Sampling Now; the Ulysses Product Family Receives Bluetooth 1.1 Qualification

Signia Technologies, with its mission to unplug to freedom, today announced that the Bluetooth SIG Inc. has qualified its latest Bluetooth implementation. Working with Cetecom Inc., a recognized BQB, Signia Technologies has successfully qualified its Ulysses(TM) Bluetooth baseband controller/modem and baseband layer protocol stack to Bluetooth specification version 1.1.

"Signia's Ulysses Bluetooth solution, tested against Bluetooth products from major manufacturers worldwide, together with successful completion of the Bluetooth Qualification Process, gives customers of Signia solutions complete assurance of hardware interoperability."

The Ulysses(TM) Bluetooth product family supports eight data channels, three voice channels, USB, UART, and a unique and versatile Host Processor Interface to enable the lowest B.O.M. costs for PC cards, CompactFlash cards, and other stand-alone products such as access points. Targeted in Q2, 2002 for volume production, Signia is sampling to several major U.S. and Asia OEM and ODM customers in the notebook, PDA, PC card, CF card, and cellular phone markets.
