December 4, 2001

As the North American workforce becomes more mobile, IT departments are faced with several challenges: standardizing on mobile devices and deploying staged or pre-configured devices that are user-ready and easily managed on going.

In an effort to solve these challenges, Synchrologic today announced a new relationship with NEC Computers to distribute its MobilePro(TM) 790 handheld PC and newly announced MobilePro(TM) P300 personal digital assistant (PDA) with Synchrologic's iMobile Suite client software, iMobile Connect. NEC will brand Synchrologic's iMobile Suite, the MobilePro Synchronization System(1).

"Synchrologic offers an effective solution for managing, securing and accessing enterprise data," said Larry Miller, vice president of Marketing, NEC Computers Inc. "With the MobilePro Synchronization System, NEC customers will have a mobile data management solution designed to maximize individual productivity."

Synchrologic's mobile infrastructure software, iMobile Suite, mobilizes enterprise applications such as e-mail or customer relationship management (CRM) data, provides mobile systems management and distributes content such as documents, spreadsheet and Web pages to mobile devices. Both companies also plan to jointly market and distribute the mobile solution. The relationship will allow sales representatives from NEC Computers to offer Synchrologic's iMobile Suite to its small- and medium-sized businesses.

"NEC's handheld devices provide outstanding versatility and performance for mobile users," said John Dancu, president and chief operating officer, Synchrologic. "By working together, we can offer enterprise customers a complete mobile solution."
