Telia Mobile has selected Colibria AS to provide Mobile Instant Messaging and Chat software

Telia Mobile and Colibria have signed a contract for the delivery of Mobile Instant Messaging and Mobile Chat applications to the Telia Mobile Group. The users of one of Telia Mobile Portals, have enjoyed using these services since September. Colibria have been providing these services to one of Telia’s mobile portals since September and Tthese services will now be made available for the whole Telia Mobile Group (3.837.000 mobile subscribers in the Nordic countries per Sept. 2001). Telia Mobile has been one of the worlds first Mobile Portals to offer an integrated Mobile Instant Messaging solution, which makes it easy and fun for users to send instant messages and talk in chat-rooms seamlessly between PC- and mobile users through Web and WAP and SMS.

User benefits With the Mobile Instant Messaging solution from Colibria the users are able to send single or group messages to their friends from their mobile phones using either SMS or WAP, or from their PC. Messages will be delivered as pop up messages on the receiver’s PC or directly to the phone according to the profile set by the receiver. Before sending a message the user can view the status set by his friends (e.g. “In Amsterdam” or “I am Busy”). The users will also be able to send messages to most popular external IM systems.

By using the Chat applications, the users can anonymously participate in virtual chat rooms while traveling using SMS or WAP. When using the PC, the person may continue the chat while using a PC and the Internet
