December 12, 2001

United Messaging, the leading provider of outsourced messaging and collaboration solutions for large enterprises, today announced a complete wireless messaging solution that integrates the BlackBerry wireless technology into its portfolio of anywhere, anytime messaging and collaboration offerings.

United Messaging's Enterprise BlackBerry Service is designed to meet requirements of today's mobile messaging enterprise user:

-- Access - 24/7

-- Portability - choice of two handheld devices, one pager-sized, one palm-sized

-- Security - encryption to and from United Messaging data centers as well as virus, spam and filtering capabilities using Message Control(R)

-- Integration - use existing corporate e-mailboxes for a wireless extension of a user's regular e-mail address and synchronize calendar, address book, and task list with your desktop or laptop

-- Cost - Flat rate monthly fee includes national coverage, unlimited airtime, no long distance charges

-- Client Services - 24/7

Enterprise BlackBerry Service features include the ability to read, compose, send, receive, forward to, reply to, delete or file e-mail. It operates over a national wireless network and offers filter capabilities so users can determine which e-mail messages are sent to their handheld devices. Other features include information backup software utilities and folder management tools.

Enterprise BlackBerry Service is designed for United Messaging clients with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes platforms. For iPlanet platform clients, United Messaging already offers its e-Link wireless messaging services.

Enhanced Security and Virus Protection

When integrated with United Messaging's Message Control service, enterprises using BlackBerry get enhanced virus protection and can manage wireless Internet mail traffic by reducing the amount of junk mail received, blocking messages with inappropriate content, setting message size limits, and accessing real time traffic reports.

"With today's mobile workforce, many enterprises are looking for better ways to communicate while protecting their systems and data assets," said Ben Trowbridge, CEO and Chairman of United Messaging. "We believe our mobile BlackBerry services are the logical next step in providing secure, enterprise-level, anytime, anywhere messaging. This new service is a logical next step in offering a complete wireless portfolio of outsourced messaging and collaboration solutions."

Prices for United Messaging's Enterprise BlackBerry Services are $54.95 per user, per month. A one time $50.00 per user set up fee is required. Handheld units are $409.00 for the pager size RIM 850 and $509.00 for the palm size RIM 857device. These services will be available for general release in January 2002.
