December 4, 2001

Subscribers can now reliably send and receive messages regardless of which carrier they choose

Wireless Services Corporation (WSC), a developer and provider of wireless data delivery solutions, today announced the immediate availability of version 4.0 of its Intercarrier Data Exchange platform (IDX).

IDX is a carrier-grade software platform that enables the delivery of messages to wireless subscribers irrespective of carrier or wireless device, by entering only the destination phone number. The product offers integration into carriers' existing networks and leverages existing capital and other resource investments. IDX opens new revenue opportunities and increases customer loyalty for wireless carriers by extending their messaging networks worldwide. Subscribers can enjoy the benefits of easily communicating with friends and family worldwide through a secure and reliable platform.

"IDX has been running for over four years in commercial production delivering more than 500 million messages throughout the U.S., Latin America and the Philippines," said Steve Wood, president and CEO of Wireless Services Corporation. "It is a proven cost-effective software platform that has been instrumental in growing the use of messaging applications."

IDX Version 4.0 Offers Comprehensive Improvements

The IDX platform provides carriers with a comprehensive set of applications and tools required for the implementation of value-add wireless data applications including:

-- Sophisticated new Intercarrier support to interface with micro-billing and legacy billing systems

-- Interoperability between different protocols such as DCMA, GSM/GPRS, iDEN, TDMA and 3G, among others

-- New security features including enhanced SPAM filtering

-- Enhanced Virtual Network Operations Center offers remote command and control for system management

-- 200% performance gains in message throughput and data storage capacity plus increased platform scalability

IDX has been deployed in a top five U.S. wireless carrier for over four years managing the company's data messaging services. The product was installed in Latin America and the Philippines in May 2001. WSC has a long-standing reputation of helping its customers achieve `best-of-class' status by increasing both ARPU (average revenue per unit) and customer loyalty.
