Distributor of Software Licenses, Development Tools, and Training

BSQUARE Corporation (Nasdaq:BSQR), a Windows Embedded Partner of the Year for 2001 and the No. 1 Windows CE distributor in North America for 2000, today announced it is an authorized distributor of the new Windows CE .NET operating system.

BSQUARE offers a wide range of Windows CE .NET products and services -- including operating system software licenses, a professional development toolkit, developer training, and technical support. BSQUARE provides this complete solution to embedded system developers, system integrators, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Windows CE .NET is the successor to Windows CE 3.0. This robust real-time embedded operating system delivers the latest wireless and multimedia functionality to enable embedded developers to bring the next generation of smart, connected devices to market quickly. Windows CE .NET works on four major CPU architecture families and on over 200 CPU types, and is used in a broad range of device types, including PDA, thin client, smart-phone, set-top-box, residential gateway, Web pad, retail Point-of-Sale (POS), and industrial control.

Developers will find a broad range of new and enhanced features in Windows CE .NET, including wireless technologies such as Bluetooth; device emulation; a Platform Wizard to jump-start the development process with pre-configured device designs; and rich multimedia and browsing capabilities, such as Internet Explorer 5.5 and Windows Media codecs and controls.

"BSQUARE's proven track record with the Windows Embedded family of operating systems makes it an excellent point of contact for system integrators and OEMs looking for technical support, training or software licenses for Windows CE .NET," said Scott Horn, director of the Embedded and Appliance Platforms Group at Microsoft Corp. "As a result of BSQUARE's commitment to the industry and its deep experience with the Windows CE operating systems, Microsoft is pleased that BSQUARE has signed on as an authorized dealer of our next- generation embedded platform for smart, mobile, connected devices."

"BSQUARE possesses in-depth Windows CE expertise and full product offerings, including operating systems software licenses, development toolkits, training, and technical support," said Bill Baxter, president and CEO of BSQUARE. "This end-to-end solution allows our customers to rapidly build smart designs on the latest hardware with rich applications."

BSQUARE will begin offering professional training for Windows CE .NET in January 2002. The instructor-led, hands-on courses, which were developed by BSQUARE for Microsoft, teach OEMs and system integrators the basic Windows CE .NET building blocks, and how to design, configure, and modify the Windows CE .NET operating system.

BSQUARE recently announced that it also distributes Windows XP Embedded operating system software licenses, as well as development toolkits, professional training, and technical support for XP Embedded. BSQUARE is also a Gold-level member of Microsoft's Windows Embedded Partner (WEP) program.
