In-Fusio launches downloadable mobile games service in China

Shanghai / Bordeaux – January 16th, 2002 –

In-Fusio announces the launch of its downloadable games service in the Guangdong region with China Mobile, the largest GSM mobile operator in the world. While gaining foothold in Europe, In-Fusio now deploys its Asian strategy.

Consistent with its strategy to focus on the major GSM markets, In-Fusio 's ExEn® downloadable games service will be available to China Mobile's subscribers as from this month in the Guangdong Province. Through its Shanghai-based subsidiary, In Fusio adapted ExEn® games for the Chinese market.

China Mobile’s Guangdong province subsidiary now offers its customers games, downloadable from the ExEn® platform. Available at first on Philips Xenium 9@9+ handsets, the first games will be Wall Breaker (pre-loaded into handsets), Jurassic Park III, Skate Kid, Chicago Guns, Deca Challenge, Panko, Tinies Farter, Crazy Pet 2, Pile Up and Dream Quest.

Giles Corbett, In-Fusio’s Managing Director, firmly believes in the huge potential of Chinese mobile market: "Chinese people are craving for advanced technology and mobile phones are top of their demand. Therefore they are keener than Europeans on purchasing mid or high-range phones that bring them novelties and high-quality services, such as our games. We expect to cover the whole Chinese market by July 2002".

In-Fusio proposes today the only platform able to bill securely downloadable applications. The company is actively promoting the development of Java. in China, working to ensure its ExEn. platform becomes fully compatible with J2ME standard.

Being pioneers in the most populated country of the world, Philips and In-Fusio actually release the first phone that allows to download and bill applications.

Tony Burt, Mobile Internet Manager for Philips, confirming the support of Philips to the China market, said "We are happy to continue our already successful partnership with In-Fusio into China. In-Fusio games have been introduced into Philips mobile phones in France and Germany during the past year with a lot of success. We are thrilled that we can now offer these advanced gaming possibilities in our phones to the Chinese consumer. This will further strengthen our already established position in China".

Deployment of the games offer in China will continue throughout the year as ExEn® becomes available in new handsets with other manufacturers.
