Bull and AU-System Mobile form a partnership regarding distribution and integration of AU-System’s Over the air servers into Bull solutions

PARIS, STOCKHOLM, 21 January –

Bull and AU-System Mobile have signed a strategic agreement in order to provide their customers with comprehensive and highly-secure mobile telephony solutions, that includes SIM cards, OTA servers and integrated services. This agreement gives AU-System Mobile customers access to Bull’s extensive know-how in both systems integration - Bull is ranked in Europe as the third largest systems integrator - and secure microprocessor cards - Bull’s smart cards have received the highest security level yet achieved by a microprocessor card by independent bodies.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bull will distribute the AviSIM OTA (over-the-air) servers worldwide through its Integration Services Division, integrating this market-leading product into its GSM solution, while AU-System Mobile will insure compatibility of Bull’s SIM ROCK’n Com and SIM ROCK’n Tree microprocessor cards. The agreement also covers AviSIM Prepaid, AU-System Mobile’s complete prepaid solution. AviSIM OTA enables new services AviSIM OTA allows information and subscriber services to be downloaded onto the GSM subscriber's SIM card.

For example, a whole list of telephone numbers can be downloaded via the Internet. Even small programs can be downloaded onto the SIM card, so that operators can offer advanced services – such as banking and payment services (often referred to as Mobile Electronic Commerce) – via GSM phones. In view of the fierce competition on deregulated telephone markets around the world, experts are predicting that these services will be key factors for operators in their efforts to attract subscribers and increase total airtime.
