Audio Web Browser for Mobiles

Stockholm-based Pipebeach (Hall 26, Stand A40) is launching speechWeb, an audio web browser. The system creates speech dialogues from web pages. It can read HTML and JavaScript.

Telecoms operators and content providers can use speechWeb to create services such as: personalized news casts; speech e-mail; and on-line shopping. The software reads synthesized speech from web pages or plays pre-recorded audio messages.

Pipebeach's CEO, Christer Granberg, says speechWeb creates a "PC-free web surfing experience." The company says that its target customers are mobilecomms operators, Internet service providers and large enterprises.
