BLOOMBERG.COM TO DELIVER NEWS OVER SPRINT PCS' "WIRELESS WEB"

Moving to expand its news delivery across digital platforms, Bloomberg today announced it will offer Sprint PCS wireless subscribers access to news and data from its popular Bloomberg.com Website.

Bloomberg news and information is used by over 250,000 financial professionals (the BLOOMBERG system), 8 million radio listeners (Bloomberg Radio), over 200 million Bloomberg Television homes, and by Bloomberg News' 50 million readers in 850 newspapers around the world.

According to David Wachtel, publisher of Bloomberg Media, the new service will offer access to news displayed in three categories: "World News", "Financial", and "Company News and Delayed Stock Quotes." Quotes can be obtained simply by entering a company's stock symbol or complete name.

The service will also offer access to current index values, changes, and news summaries in four easy-to-read categories: Equity indices, bonds, currency and commodities.

"Because of the nature of our news and the kind of people who rely on it, this agreement with Sprint PCS is a natural fit," said David Wachtel, publisher of Bloomberg Media. "Investors see our news as a real competitive advantage, and it's exciting to be able to give them access in the palms of their hands anywhere, anytime."

"Sprint PCS is committed to providing our customers with clarity and connectivity nationwide. Sprint PCS Wireless Web will be able to offer subscribers news and financial information anywhere on our nationwide wireless network," said Charles Levine, chief sales and marketing officer for Sprint PCS. "Our agreement with Bloomberg will make accessing stock quotes and breaking news from your wireless phone a valuable proposition for consumers and businesses across the country." The service will be available on all Internet-ready Sprint PCS wireless phones in late September. The information will be updated at a rate consistent with the provider's Internet offering.

Bloomberg.com http://www.bloomberg.com attracted 137 million page views in June 1999 and ranks in the top 5 in its category, according to Media Metrix. The site features exclusive news, data and tools gathered from Bloomberg's authoritative newswire feeds, video, indexes, book excerpts, magazine articles, market news, and worldwide reporting staff. The site recently won the New York City Society of Professional Journalists' "Deadline Club Award" as best Web site.

The company also publishes Bloomberg Personal Finance, a monthly magazine which offers high-end amateur investors financial tools previously available only to professionals; Bloomberg magazine, an award-winning publication distributed to all BLOOMBERG service users; Bloomberg Wealth Planner, which focuses on issues of interest to financial advisors servicing high net worth clients; and business and financial books published by Bloomberg Press.
