Phone.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:PHCM) and Southern LINC® today announce a licensing agreement for the MyPhone mobile portal platform. The agreement enables Southern LINC to offer its own branded portal site to customers as part of Informance SolutionsSM, a suite of wireless data and Internet services. Phone.com's MyPhone mobile portal platform, introduced today, provides a framework for aggregation, presentation, personalization, and delivery of Internet based content and wireless-network integrated applications to microbrowser-enabled wireless phones. Phone.com will be demonstrating the platform this week at the PCS'99 show in New Orleans (Booth #1826).
Southern LINC is the first network operator to publicly announce its plans to leverage the MyPhone mobile portal platform. This service, available to Southern LINC customers beginning in October 1999, will enable mobile business users to access Internet information services such as news headlines, weather reports and stock quotes; view and update their address book; and send and receive e-mail using any Internet-ready computer or Motorola Internet-ready iDEN® handset.
