Starting this weekend, consumers that visit the San Francisco Virgin Megastore and sign up for Mobile Attitude, the first free mobile media and commerce service, will receive a special text message from Virgin, redeemable for one of fifteen free CDs. The promotion will run during the weekends of October 16-17, October 30-31 and November 6-7. Mobile Attitude is a free service that sends promotional messages and reminders to subscribers on their mobile phone or pager, expanding theversatility of these devices for communication and productivity. Consumers can now sign up to receive these mobile messages from Virgin, as well as a variety of Bay Area and national merchants, direct to their digital cell phones or alphanumeric pagers.

Consumers who visit the Mobile Attitude booth at the San Francisco Virgin Megastore have several options to sign up for the service and redeem a mobile message voucher from the Virgin Megastore Online. Those who bring their alphanumeric pagers or text-enabled digital cell phones with them to the store can sign up at the Mobile Attitude booth and choose their free CD immediately after receiving a promotional message sent to their mobile device. Consumers without a mobile phone or pager on hand can also sign up for the service at the booth and redeem the free CD once their service is activated, simply by calling the toll-free number embedded in the Mobile Attitude message on their mobile device and referencing a special code.
