Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and WORLDSPAN, a leading online travel reservation system, today announced an agreement to furnish travel information via Motorola's Internet-access-enabled wireless devices. Through Motorola's Mobile Internet Exchange™ communications platform (also known as the MIX™ platform), and its enhanced voice capabilities*, carriers will be able to offer their customers access to WORLDSPAN's travel services through any phone. WORLDSPAN is the first travel channel provider to the core content of Motorola's MIX platform.
As one of the top travel transaction processors, WORLDSPAN currently offers real-time flight arrival and departure information through Motorola's MIX platform. In the first quarter of 2000, users are expected to be able to get airline flight availability, purchase airline tickets, and change air itineraries through the services provided by WORLDSPAN.
Instead of having to contact airlines, hotels and car rental companies individually, users can make all arrangements by accessing WORLDSPAN's integrated travel content. Airline, hotel, and car rental booking capabilities will be available through WORLDSPAN, providing travelers with prompt, efficient travel bookings through the MIX services.

The Wireless Applications Protocol (WAP) makes it possible for information to be viewed on a phone's display. The VoxGateway and VoxML™ programming language, Motorola's precursor to the VoiceXML standard, enable enhanced voice services, such as voice dialing and the ability to listen to email, personal organizer data and Internet-based information.
