ORGA SIM’s Enable HSBC To Launch The UK’s First GSM Banking Application

A new mobile phone package has been launched by HSBC using ORGA SIM cards making it easy for the bank’s customers to organise their finances at the touch of a button.

The package includes the award winning Motorola cd920 mobile SIM Toolkit compliant phone, which has a dedicated menu resident on the ORGA supplied 16K SIM. This enables the user to connect directly to the bank’s 24 hour automated telephone banking service (ServicePlus2). Users can now check the balance of their accounts, transfer money between accounts, check recent transactions, pay bills or transfer direct to a customer service representative.

ORGA one of the largest suppliers of SIM (Subscriber Identification Modules) Cards for use within the mobile phones, were responsible for programming the applications on the cards using standard GSM SIM tool kit technology. This effectively creates screen driven menu structures that allows the user to access call set-ups to Service Plus commands and provide a secure over the air solution which is simple and easy to use.

This type of application is just the start of a wide range of menu driven services which can be enabled for mobile users to access both network and third party value added services. It also demonstrates ORGA’s considerable experience both as a supplier of SIM cards and as systems integrators within the mobile communications sector.
