Sprint Teams with GetThere.com to Offer Travel Services Over the Sprint PCS Wireless Web

Sprint PCS Customers Will Have Wireless Web-based Travel Management Capabilities on Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phones

Sprint PCS (NYSE: PCS) today announced an agreement with GetThere.com, formerly Internet Travel Network (ITN), to provide travel services via the Sprint PCS Wireless Web. Sprint PCS launched the Wireless Web - a new suite of simple, user-friendly wireless data products and services - in late September nationwide on the Sprint PCS all-digital, all-PCS wireless network.* Nearly every new phone sold by Sprint PCS moving forward will have the capability of using the Wireless Web service, totaling more than two million phones by the end of 1999. Under the agreement, Sprint PCS Wireless Web customers can track flight departures, arrivals and other travel-based information "real time" from the MiniBrowser on their Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phones. With its travel management capabilities, GetThere.com brings a valuable new content area to the Sprint PCS Wireless Web where customers can already browse news, weather, sports, stocks and other information.

"Online travel management is a valuable application for the Sprint PCS Wireless Web service, offering our customers a clear, simple connection to critical travel information anytime, anywhere on the Sprint PCS nationwide wireless network," said Charles Levine, chief sales and marketing officer for Sprint PCS. "By extending its Internet travel services to mobile phones, GetThere.com is making online travel information more accessible and convenient."

GetThere.com will offer travel management capabilities to Sprint PCS Wireless Web customers through its new Mobile Manager software. Mobile Manager is an interface between GetThere.com's Web-based travel booking system and the Sprint PCS Wireless Web. GetThere.com's booking system is currently used by airlines and businesses to provide Web-based travel management services to customers.
