Phone.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: PHCM), and SUNDAY, Hong Kong's largest PCS network operator, today announced that SUNDAY has licensed the Phone.com™ Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-compatible UP.Link™ Server 4.0. Under the terms of the agreement, SUNDAY will use its Phone.com software license to provide new wireless Internet service offerings to its Hong Kong mobile customers.
Using Phone.com software, SUNDAY will be able to transform handsets into wireless Internet appliances in Hong Kong. With the WAP solution from Phone.com, SUNDAY will bring the Internet to the hands of its subscribers. Not only will its subscribers be able to leverage the richness of Internet content, SUNDAY will also be providing a wide range of WAP services, such as Info-On-Demand services (e.g. financial news, weather, etc.), and Personal Information Management services (e.g. mobile email, personal organizer, scheduler, etc.). Furthermore, SUNDAY will deliver Mobile Commerce for its subscribers together with numerous innovative and exciting services.
These new SUNDAY services can be accessed through mobile phones equipped with a WAP-compatible microbrowser such as the Phone.com™ UP.Browser™ microbrowser.
