BYTE awards have been a part of many shows, including PC Expo, CeBIT and Comdex, for over a decade. After a one-year hiatus, the awards have returned to Comdex/Fall in Las Vegas. The awards cover products and technologies announced no more than sixty days before Comdedx/Fall '99, and (with the exception of the Area 51 award) exhibited on the main show floor or other publicly accessible space at the show. Products and technologies are nominated based on presenting a significant new idea, innovation, impact on the industry, intelligent design, and great value. The awards are judged by members of the BYTE.com editorial staff.
