GEOWORKS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES GROUP SELECTED BY SEIKO EPSON FOR NEXT GENERATION PRODUCTS

Geoworks Corporation (Nasdaq: GWRX), a leading provider of wireless software and service solutions, announced today that its Professional Services Group was selected by Seiko Epson Corp. of Japan to provide engineering expertise and technology services for two new Seiko Epson multi-purpose mobile communications devices. This is a continuation of the work that Geowork's Professional Service Group has already provided for Seiko Epson's Locatio, announced May 17, 1999. The new products, the Locatio S model and the Locatio M model, will start shipping in Japan on Nov. 18, 1999. Images of the devices can be found at http://www.i-love-epson.co.jp./locatio.

The Professional Services Group utilizes Geoworks' 16 years of extensive operating system and application software development experience, as well as its expertise in wireless data services and global device deployment to provide the mobile communications industry with technology consulting, software development, project management and quality assurance services.

Both Locatio devices are multi-purpose units equipped with GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology and a full color display. The Locatio M model is additionally equipped with a built-in digital camera. New features of the devices include the ability for uses to manually input longitude and latitude to retrieve maps, longer battery life (17-18 hours), the ability to connect to the "i-point network" or the Internet by using the cellular phones with a variety of carriers, and two CF slots for maps and interfacing with other communication devices.
