Certicom, a leading provider of next-generation encryption technology, and Advanced Trading Solutions, Inc., today announced a licensing agreement whereby Advanced Trading Solutions will secure its AirTraderTM software with encryption technology designed by Certicom. Certicom's trusted elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) provides AirTrader mobile users added assurance that their financial information will be protected when utilizing Windows CE and Palm OS devices to perform confidential transactions.
Advanced Trading Solutions focuses exclusively on building state-of-the-art products, and providing senior-level technical consulting services to the brokerage industry, including some of the largest financial institutions in North America. AirTrader became available for deployment in December of 1999.
"Securing financial transactions with the strongest, most efficient embedded encryption technology is of paramount importance to all our clients," said Sam Gabor, president and CEO of Advanced Trading Solutions. "Without Certicom's encryption technology, it would have been very difficult for us to convince our clients that our Internet-based solution was fully secure. Leveraging Certicom's products allowed us to offer a timely mobile trading solution to the brokerage community."
"Today's mobile trader requires assurance that financial transactions are absolutely secure," said Rick Dalmazzi, president and CEO of Certicom. "Certicom's high-powered ECC technology provides the security backbone for applications like AirTrader, which allows users to perform highly-confidential financial transactions in a wireless and wire-line setting."
