The fast growing telecom company Aspiro is now launching four more mobile
information services. The services are aimed at telecom operators and Web portal owners.
The services presented today are Wireless Fax, Wireless Mail, News and Financial News. The
new services will give the mobile user access to information directly over the phone.
The new services from Aspiro are mainly aimed at telecom operators and Web portal owners,
who in their turn can offer their clients extra services for the mobile phone.
The first agreement has been signed with mobile
operator, Europolitan. The company launched the services at its new WAP-portal, Hantera,
on December 1st.
In comparison with our competitors we have
a great advantage through our vast knowledge of telecommunications. The length of our
experience in the business has taught us how the user thinks, says, Fredrik Meurling,
Project Manager at Aspiro.
The services delivered to Europolitans WAP-portal Hantera by Aspiro are:
- Wireless Fax, which includes a complete WAP interface as well as web pages for
user settings, customer support and system administration. The service also includes fax
configuration. Each message being sent contains user information similar to that of
ordinary fax cover sheets.
- Wireless Mail, works according to the same principles as Wireless Fax including
an e-mail configuration.
- News lets the user choose from the latest headlines and access the news directly
from the display. The news content can be provided by Aspiro or directly from a content
provider such as Reuters or the BBC.
- Financial News Service can be used as a virtual news editor selecting only the
headlines and articles matching the user-defined keywords. Or simply as a source of
financial information, with all the latest headlines ready to browse through. The service
uses so-called ticker news, meaning short news which arrive continuously. The content to
this service is provided by the press agency, Ticker.
Aspiro continuously develops new services. Among the many services to be released are
Stockwatch. A service that allows the customer to check the current rate of a specific
stock or view a personal stock portfolio. Any stock rate can be monitored at any time with
automatic alert as an option.
More services to be released shortly are City
Guide, At the Movies and TV Guide, which offers advanced features for user profiles and
alerts. Extensive TV channel listings, convenient program categories and short reviews
help the user find the highlights.
