INFOWAVE ENTERS PHONE.COM ALLIANCES PROGRAM

Infowave to deliver access to Microsoft Exchange from Internet- enabled phones

Infowave Software, Inc. (TSE:IW), a leading provider of wireless solutions for mobile access to Microsoft Exchange, Intranet and Internet information from portable devices has joined the Phone.com™ (Nasdaq:PHCM) Alliances and Developer Programs. Infowave customers can already access corporate information from a wide range of mobile devices and now will have added access from WAP- (Wireless Application Protocol) enabled wireless phones.

"Infowave already delivers compelling and robust wireless solutions to corporations and we are delighted to see them bringing that enterprise expertise to Phone.com-enabled wireless phones." says Phone.com’s Director of Developer Marketing Kathy Simpson. "The corporate market has very specific wireless application needs and we are happy to be working with Infowave, a company who focuses on this market."

"The Phone.com browser links people to their most important information such as email, calendar, contacts and other Intranet information. We see the corporate market as a perfect fit for WAP solutions," says Simpson. According to Strategy Analytics, there will be 525 million WAP handsets shipped in the US and Europe between 1999 and 2003.

The Phone.com Alliance Program delivers valuable tools and highly leveraged sales and marketing programs to its members as well as providing direct access to Phone.com’s wireless carrier and device manufacturer partners.

"We are excited to have joined the Alliances Program. Phone.com has clearly established itself as a leader in the WAP space and access to their unique programs and partners will be a great asset to our ongoing sales and marketing efforts," says Ron Jasper, vice president of marketing at Infowave. "We’ve always been about choice and this initiative helps us extend that choice to this important type of mobile device. Our customers will be able to pick up a wireless WAP phone, laptop, PDA or pager and access their ever-changing corporate information wherever they happen to be."

Infowave first demonstrated its WAP capability at the Microsoft Exchange Conference in October 1999, and expects to ship commercial product in early 2000.

Infowave’s software provides fast wireless access to email, the Internet, corporate intranets and web-based applications for mobile workers who need real-time access to important desktop information when they are away from their desks. Infowave’s customers can choose from a spectrum of mobile devices including phones, pagers, handheld computers and laptops. Infowave’s software sends the right information to the right device at the right time.
