TD Waterhouse to Empower Consumers to Execute Trades Anytime, Anywhere Using Their Mobile Phones

TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. (NYSE/TSE: TWE), a leading provider of online financial services and the world's second largest discount broker, and Phone.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: PHCM), a leading provider of software and services that enable the delivery of Internet-based services to mass-market wireless phones, today announced that TD Waterhouse has joined the Phone.com™ Alliance Program and plans to extend TD Waterhouse webBroker™ functionality to WAP browser-enabled wireless phone users.

TD Waterhouse will leverage the Phone.com Software Development Kit (UP.SDK) to develop its webBroker Wireless service, allowing TD Waterhouse customers to trade stocks, options, mutual funds and closed-end funds. Customers will also have secure access to their account information, real-time news and individual and personalized quote lists from their wireless phones. "We look forward to working with Phone.com and their more than 44 carrier customers to extend the mobile functionality of TD Waterhouse webBroker to our customers," said Richard J. Rzasa, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of TD Waterhouse. "By using the Phone.com software development kit we can ensure that our webBroker Wireless application will work with over 50 phone models from more than 25 different manufacturers. This will allow our investors worldwide to stay on top of their investments from their favorite mobile phones."

"We are pleased to be working with TD Waterhouse and to be able to provide them the tools and resources that they need to develop a mobile application that meets the customer demands for real time information," said Ben Linder, vice president of marketing for Phone.com. "A mobile webBroker will allow a mobile user to take greater control of their investing by providing them with accurate, real-time, access to their most important personal information-their financial portfolio-on the screen of their phones."
