WIRELESS INTERNET PIONEERS SUNDAY AND PHONE.COM HOST WAP SEMINAR

SUNDAY, a leading Hong Kong Wireless communications company, and Phone.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: PHCM), a leading provider of software and services that enable the delivery of Internet-based services to mass-market wireless phones, are holding a seminar on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). The groundbreaking seminar opens today, will be held over 2 days, and will address both business and technical issues relating to the commercial rollout of WAP-based products and services.

The theme of the seminar is "Leading the Wireless Internet", reflecting SUNDAY and Phone.com's pivotal role in providing wire-free Internet access in Hong Kong and focusing on opportunities in the Greater China market. The seminar is aimed at bringing together Internet content providers, application developers and mobile device manufacturers, as well as media and industry analysts; and informing them of the latest in WAP technology and applications. Topics including 'business opportunities in Hong Kong', 'the development of WAP', and various technical issues will be presented by industry leaders and investment analysts and through training sessions.

WAP testimonials will be presented from companies such as OANDA, Inc., operator of the world's first WAP currency converter; Index Corporation, a pioneer in the Japanese mobile Internet content market; and KenTech, one of New York City's leading wireless Internet application service provider. The success stories of these companies illustrate the opportunities for wireless Internet services on a global and local basis.

"SUNDAY is proud to present the first WAP seminar in Hong Kong together with Phone.com," said Craig Ehrlich, group managing director of SUNDAY. "We are excited to share our extensive WAP knowledge with the Hong Kong market. We look forward to working with the companies attending today's forum, together we can make the Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong) a front runner in worldwide WAP application and further increase Hong Kong's international competitiveness."

Ben Linder, Phone.Com's Vice President of Marketing said: "Through our relationship with SUNDAY and our co-hosting of the seminar, we are positioning the world's most widely adopted WAP solution firmly within one of Asia's fastest growing markets, setting the stage for expansion into Greater China."

Organising the WAP seminar is a result of the agreement signed by SUNDAY and Phone.com in October 1999. The seminar takes place on the eve of SUNDAY's introduction of many exciting new Wireless Internet-related services, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2000. The Forum will continue with technical training sessions on the morning of December 14,1999.
