XML Datasets using WAP possible??

I'm a WAP and XML beginner but I wonder if you could build a WAP solution to connect/disconnect to and download/upload data.
I know you can persist XML datasets on the client.

The traditional way would be dial-up to the NT Server directly but that requires U to have X simultainiously available connections.

I'd like to be able to use an WAP/WEB Server to communicate with.

Any ideas??
